Delaware, DE
Delaware is a state located on the Atlantic
Coast in the Mid-Atlantic and Southern regions
of the United States. The state is named after
Delaware Bay and River, which were named for
Thomas West, 3rd Baron De La Warr (1577–1618).
Population estimates by the Census Bureau for
2005 place the population of Delaware at
843,524.
Despite being the 45th most populous state, it
is the seventh most densely populated state,
with a population density of 320 more people per
square mile than the national average, ranking
ahead of states such as Florida, California, and
Texas.
Geography
Delaware is 96 miles long and ranges from 9 to
35 miles across, totaling 1,954 square miles and
making it the second-smallest state in the
United States after Rhode Island.
Delaware is bounded to the north by
Pennsylvania, to the east by the Delaware River,
Delaware Bay, New Jersey and the Atlantic Ocean
and to the west and south by Maryland.
Small portions of Delaware are also situated on
the far, or eastern, side of the Delaware River
Estuary, and these small parcels share land
boundaries with New Jersey.
The state of Delaware, together with the Eastern
Shore counties of Maryland and two counties of
Virginia, form the Delmarva Peninsula, a
geographical unit stretching far down the
Mid-Atlantic Coast.
The definition of the northern boundary of the
state is highly unusual.
Most of the boundary between Delaware and
Pennsylvania is defined by an arc extending 12
miles (19 km) from the cupola of the courthouse
in New Castle, and is referred to as the
Twelve-Mile Circle.

A
Professional Photographer's Best Friend
by
Athena McDonald
A
professional photographer's nightmare comes in two
forms. The first one is the lack of a usable shot
and the second is the moment their favorite
equipment breaks. There's not much anyone can do for
the former but the latter is easily remedied. As
experts, photographers know how to take care of
their cameras, lenses and other equipment. They also
know the proper way to store them for travel and
other purposes.
Because of this, they look for the best choice in
accessories that will assist them in transporting
their stuff. They know what they need and it's much
easier for them to choose. They consider the best
way to store their SLR and that is the feature that
they prioritize when looking for a bag. The
sensitive camera equipment needs to be stored in a
place where it is less likely to be jostled or
broken on impact.
A
good bag would be one with padding for your camera.
It is necessary for the camera to fit or else it
would still be damaged by the cramped space. It is
better if the bag is made especially for that kind
of model. Convenience is the key because of the
photographers' hectic schedules.
This
is doubly important for photographers who make a
living out of travelling and taking pictures. For
them, a nice feature would be for the bag to store
not just the camera but their other things as well.
While certain pockets and compartments store memory
cards, film, batteries and chargers, there should be
also separate pockets for things like, money, mobile
phones and other necessary things.
Another important piece of equipment is the lens.
This is the very tool that makes photographers good
at what they do. It is more delicate than the camera
and requires more care than the SLR. Some backpacks
offer the option of storing your lenses as well, but
make sure that they fit and will be less likely to
break.
The
bag must be lightweight and comfy to wear. It's not
worth it if you think you have a great bag that
causes severe neck problems. Style and form are not
as important, but it wouldn't hurt to choose a bag
that is sleek and stylish. Still, there is no need
to be extravagant. As long as the equipment is taken
care of, it will be fine.
As
professionals, they have the responsibility to take
care of their trade by keeping their tools safe. By
choosing the right type of backpack, not only are
they taking care of their equipment but also their
career. That is what every camera owner must
remember. The tools of their trade are what make
them the professionals that they are.
